Girls golf makes Neuse Charter history
By Makenna Hammer

The girls golf team finished their conference season at Pine Hollow.

The Neuse girls placed fifth of 12 teams.

Throughout the season they maintained a steady rank. The best they placed was third of eight teams, beating Clayton High and Corinth Holder. They played well this year and are expecting an even better season next year.

Junior Makenna Hammer, team captain, placed first in the individual rankings. In every tournament she placed either first or second. She will be competing in the Regional tournament on October 21 and is expected to make the cut for the state tournament.

Senior Sammie Atkins and junior Caroline Lancaster were key players, making it possible for Neuse to place so well.
