New clubs planned for NCS
By Brad Tinker

This is the first year that Neuse Charter School is having clubs that are entirely left to students to organize.

This means that club ideas are only as limited as students' imaginations. All students need to do is generate student interest and find a staff member to sponsor and advise the club.

Some students have ideas for clubs that they are trying to get off the ground.

Senior Sakoyia Heath is a senior at NCS and she is hoping to begin a Key Club, which is a club that teaches leadership through serving others and the community.

High school English teacher Rachel McInnis has agreed to be the adviser of Key Club.

Heath hopes that once enough students are interested, the Key Club will start meet in the mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:50 to 8:20.

Heath said, “Our goal will be to inspire students in the club to take on leadership roles and to make our community a better place. We want to donate to the March of Dimes and other Children Miracle Networks. Join to be a part of an amazing organization.”
